Join us on Saturday, November 22nd, as we welcome Meg Rulli of Flipturn Cellars as part of our Spin the Bottle guest winemaker series.
Flipturn celebrates the unexpected flips and turns in life. Meg fell in love with wine during her college study abroad in Barcelona, where she discovered the joy of pairing wine with food. That spark grew stronger years later after moving to Oregon, where she found herself surrounded by the remarkable wine regions of the Pacific Northwest.
In 2019, Meg earned her WSET Level 3 Certification, deepening her fascination with the grape-to-glass transformation. The following year, she took a bold leap — purchasing one ton of Syrah from Washington’s Yakima Valley without any prior winemaking experience. Through hands-on learning and mentorship from talented Oregon winemakers, she crafted her first vintage and launched Flipturn Cellars in 2022.
Flipturn Cellars sources grapes from vineyards practicing regenerative farming to produce small-batch, minimal-intervention, food-friendly wines. You may have seen Meg out in the Willamette Valley over the years as a featured winery at the semi-annual Indie Wine Mixer, where she continues to champion community among Oregon’s small producers.
When she’s not in the cellar, Meg runs Barrel Dork — a weekly newsletter and online platform where she shares approachable wine education and courses designed for everyday wine lovers.
Stop by the winery bar from 2-6 pm to taste Meg’s latest creations:
2024 Trio White Blend (Viognier, Muscat, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris), Willamette Valley + Rogue Valley
2023 Old Vine Dry Riesling, Columbia Gorge (OR)
2023 Rustic Sangiovese, The Rocks District, Walla Walla
As always, Spin the Bottle tastings are free!
