2025 HARVEST NOTES FROM MATT

2025 marks the earliest and shortest harvest I’ve seen in over twenty years of working with grapes in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. A warm season followed by late-summer heat accelerated ripening, bringing the fruit to maturity earlier than expected. Sugar levels and berry softness met all our hopes, and we began picking on September 9th—about a week and a half earlier than normal. By the first of October, nearly everything was in, which never happens!

This week, we’re welcoming our final pick: Riesling, our favorite late-ripening white. From here, it’s all downhill to the finish line. The quality of this year’s fruit is exceptional—the dry growing season delivered disease-free clusters and remarkably even ripeness.

Our crew is feeling the fatigue that comes with such an intense, compressed harvest, but spirits remain high thanks to taco-fueled lunches and a stretch of perfect autumn weather. We can’t wait for you to taste the 2025 vintage!

TO celebrate the end of harvest, we are throwing a party.
