That’s the essence of Spin the Bottle, our ongoing guest winemaker series at Portland Wine Co., where we welcome friends from the industry to showcase their wines and the stories behind them through intimate, curated tastings and special gatherings.
The series is back—and this time, we’re delighted to welcome Mike Hinds of Franchere Wine Company as our featured guest.
Mike Hinds has been making adventurous, balanced, thoughtfully crafted wines under the Franchere label since 2013. He ferments his wines solely with native yeasts and without temperature controlled tanks, filtration, weird enological products, or fancy machines. And while Mike loves grapes in the Pinot family, he also works with Grüner Veltliner, Blaufränkisch, Ehrenfelser, and Kerner, and other varieties that are less commonly grown in the Willamette Valley.
